Bargara sits right on the Coral Coast, and the closer your block is to the water and the more open it is, the higher it assesses under AS 4055. Where a sheltered suburban yard inland might sit at N3, a Bargara block near Nielson Park or The Basin can step up to C2 or C3 in Wind Region C. That changes the bracket gauge, the post size and the footing depth, so a patio kit priced for an inland site simply will not pass the certifier here. We assess the exposure and engineer to the real classification with certified Form 15 and Form 16.

Salt air eats unprotected steel.

The other Bargara factor is corrosion. Salt-laden coastal air rusts bare or undersized steel within a few years, so we default to hot-dip galvanised brackets, suitable marine-grade or coastal Colorbond finishes and stainless fixings near the water. It costs a little more upfront and it is the difference between a patio that still looks good in fifteen years and one streaking rust down the posts by year five.
